The CharivariCollective is a Bremen-based ensemble founded by jazz pianist Nils O’Swald in September 2022, exploring the musical boundaries between jazz and classical music. The members are four classical musicians from Spain and South Africa and three jazz musicians from Germany. Since the beginning, the ensemble has been about learning and growing from and with each other, and about exploring their own musical expression as individuals on the one hand and as part of the collective on the other.
The CharivariCollective is characterized by its special line-up of acoustic instruments, consisting of two violins, two cellos, piano, double bass and drums.
After the first successful concert in February 2023, a studio recording session in June 2023 including video recordings, the ensemble reaches for chances of further performances and collaborations.
